Types of Acquisition Requests
MMLBA offers three distinct types of municipal conveyance requests, depending on the type of property and its jurisdiction. Below, you’ll find a brief description of each request type to help guide your submission.
Shelby County Conveyance Request
Transform Shelby County properties into thriving community assets.
- This type of request is for properties located within Shelby County. Developers interested in acquiring county-owned properties to transform them into productive community assets are encouraged to apply. Each request will be evaluated based on its potential impact and alignment with MMLBA’s mission of community revitalization.
City of Memphis Conveyance Request
Redevelop Memphis properties to restore neighborhood vitality.
- For properties owned by the City of Memphis, developers can submit a City of Memphis Conveyance Request. These properties may have potential for redevelopment, and successful applicants will demonstrate a plan to return these sites to active, beneficial use for the community. MMLBA will work alongside developers to ensure properties are put back into productive use.
Tax Sale Conveyance Request
Breathe new life into tax-delinquent properties for community growth.
- Properties that have gone through a tax sale may also be requested through our Tax Sale Conveyance Request. This option is suitable for developers looking to acquire tax-delinquent properties that have been deemed suitable for redevelopment. Applicants must outline their intended use and how it aligns with our goals of neighborhood stabilization and growth.
